Curriculum

History

At Harleston Sancroft Academy we shape our history curriculum to ensure it is fully inclusive to every child. Our aims are:

– to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum for History
– providing a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum that encompasses the British Values
– ensuring the progressive development of historical concepts, knowledge and skills
– for the children to study life in the past.

History in the early years and primary phase is underpinned by our purpose for education which is to enable all pupils to flourish and grow. Through our values (hope, perseverance, wisdom, love, respect & faith) we aim to provide our pupils with a history curriculum that is knowledge-rich, vocabulary-driven and skills-based. This will inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about history in our locality, Britain and the wider world.

I feel valued as a member of staff. I like the fact the school has a clear vision, a vision that I feel a part of.
