Welcome

Stepping Up (Transition)

The stepping up programme is designed to ensure that children are fully prepared and equipped for the move from primary phase to secondary phase. This is a well-established and highly successful transition programme that incorporates visits from dedicated stepping up staff and student ambassadors from within the secondary phase over a prolonged period of time, activities and sessions based in the secondary phase building for primary pupils and additional pastoral sessions where required, to ensure that all pupils feel confident and comfortable as they move from one phase to another.

In the last week of the summer term, pupils in year 6 spend the week in the secondary phase. Experience tells us that this is extremely beneficial ahead of the summer holidays and allows for many questions and queries to be addressed before they start again in the secondary phase in September.

I feel valued as a member of staff. I like the fact the school has a clear vision, a vision that I feel a part of.

Every single person who works at the school contributes to who I am. It truly is a special place where we are all one big family.
